Allergic dermatitis occurs as a result of the body's immune response to external and internal stimuli. Very often food plays an important role in the development of the disease, therefore, as a rule, such patients are prescribed a mandatory hypoallergenic diet for allergic dermatitis.

Compliance with the diet is aimed at reducing the negative nutritional load, especially in the child, as well as identifying and eliminating allergenic foods from the patient's diet.
Food allergenicity classification
Dietetics divides all foods into 3 groups, depending on the degree of allergenicity and the reaction of the immune system, especially in young children.
FIRST GROUP (HIGH ALLERGENCY). Products of the first group should be excluded from the diet with the development of allergic dermatitis. These include:
- all citrus fruits, strawberries, chocolate;
- honey, whole milk, mayonnaise;
- mustard, ketchup and other hot spices;
- all berries, vegetables and fruits are red;
- canned meat and fish, seafood, mushrooms;
- fatty fish and meat.
- In addition, alcohol can aggravate allergic symptoms.
SECOND GROUP (MEDIUM ALLERGENCY). Products from this group require mandatory monitoring of the reaction. These include:
- turkey, lean pork;
- potatoes, rice;
- corn and bell peppers;
- peaches and apricots.
Tracking the reaction is necessary, since these products are capable of manifesting an acute reaction or, at all, its absence.
THE THIRD GROUP (LOW-ALLERGENIC). It includes products that rarely cause allergies. Almost without fear, you can use:
- lean lamb, rabbit meat;
- zucchini, pumpkin, cucumber;
- green fruits;
- fermented milk products with low fat content.
A hypoallergenic diet for allergic dermatitis is prescribed when it is difficult to determine the allergen, for example, in a child. If the food allergen is correctly identified, the symptoms gradually subside.
Diet for adults
In the development of allergic dermatitis, the main role belongs to individual intolerance. Therefore, the main condition of the diet is the rejection of probable allergens.
All food products must be fresh, and before eating vegetables and fruits, it is recommended to soak them in water for 12 hours to reduce the concentration of nitrates and harmful substances.
In addition, it is recommended that the daily menu for adults and children be limited to sweet and salty, fatty, fried foods, as well as canned and semi-finished foods.

It is quite natural that such a menu can be supplemented and replaced with similar products. However, it should be borne in mind that it is best to draw up a menu for dermatitis in adult patients, taking into account the opinion of a nutritionist. Sometimes the appearance of allergies to foods, in fact, are not allergens. In this case, cross-allergy should be excluded.
For example, if a patient has an increased sensitivity to antibiotics, an adverse reaction may occur when eating meat, which is supplemented with similar drugs for prolonged storage. In case of hypersensitivity to molds, a reaction may occur when using kvass and kefir.
In addition, you must be very careful when using tap water, as it may contain various cleaning additives. Therefore, if you have a predisposition to allergies, it is recommended to drink water from a proven natural source or buy liquid in sealed containers.
It is important to remember that a correctly compiled menu and treatment started on time can preserve the health of not only an adult patient, but also a child.
Recommended diet for children
an allergic child has a diet almost the same as an adult. However, it should be borne in mind that in young children, a negative reaction can be triggered by any food. Therefore, it is necessary to know the most harmful foods for a child.
The diet for the development of the disease in children prohibits / recommends the use of the following products:
| Prohibited foods | Featured Products |
|---|---|
| cow's milk, chicken eggs, nuts | watermelons, green apple, pears |
| fruits and vegetables of red and orange color | pumpkin, squash |
| Fish and seafood | lean meat, vegetable oil |
| chocolates, honey, coffee drinks | lean meat, vegetable oil |
| mushrooms. | fermented milk products with a short shelf life. |
It is important to remember that nursing mothers must also follow the diet, because the transmission of the allergen through breast milk is possible in babies. Any diet for adults and children should be prescribed only by a highly qualified specialist. In addition, an additional intake of lactobacilli is required to restore the intestinal microflora in case of dysbiosis, which accompanies almost every allergy sufferer, regardless of age.
