Thermikon is a broad-spectrum antimycotic agent for local and internal use. The drug is available in the form of tablets, spray and cream. Consider if you can get rid of nail fungus with it.

Composition, release form

The active ingredient of Thermikon is terbinafine hydrochloride. This component prevents the multiplication and spread of fungal infection, destroys the pathogens of mycosis at the cellular level.

The drug has three release options. Let's consider them in more detail in the table.

Release form	Description
PILLS	Contains 250 mg of terbinafine, lactose, silicon, microcellulose, etc. They are prescribed in complex therapy for advanced stages of skin and nail fungus. CREAM	Contains 10 mg terbinafine, sorbitan, benzyl and isopropyl alcohol. Available in tubes of 15 g. It is easily absorbed upon application and penetrates into the deepest layers of the nail and skin. The price for a cream in Russia is 180 rubles, in Ukraine - 79 hryvnia.

Indications

Thermicon in any form of release is recommended for use under the following conditions:

• mycoses of the skin and scalp;
• onychomycosis - nail fungus;
• candidiasis of the mucous membrane and dermis of various localization;
• all types of lichen.

Instructions for use

In the description of the drug, it is indicated in detail how to use one or another form of it to fight fungal infections. All treatment recommendations are for informational purposes only. The dosage and duration of the therapeutic effect on the disease depends on the severity of the pathology and the individual characteristics of the person. Therefore, before using the product, you should consult your doctor.

Thermicon tablets. The daily dosage of the drug is 250 mg. They are prescribed for complicated nail and skin fungus, when local treatment did not have the expected effect. The tablet is taken once a day after meals.

The duration of the therapeutic course depends on the diagnosis in a person:

• onychomycosis - from 1 to 3 months;
• mycosis of the skin and hair - up to 6 weeks;
• candidiasis - 28 days.

The instructions note that the active growth of nail tissue begins 21 days after the start of taking the drug in tablet form. From this point on, you can begin to cut off the affected areas of the plate, making room for new ones.

For children, the dosage of the medication is determined by the weight category of the small patient:

• 20 or more kg - 125 mg or ½ tablet;
• from 40 kg - 250 mg.

Thermicon cream. Recommended for the treatment of nail fungus in adults and adolescents from the age of 12.

Before using the product, it is necessary to prepare those parts of the body to which the drug will be applied. For this purpose, hot baths with emollient components are perfect, which help cleanse the tissues from the hardened stratum corneum. After the water procedure, the nails are filed and cut along the edge, trying to capture the affected parts as much as possible. Then they are dried with a towel, paying special attention to the gaps between the fingers, where the causative agent of onychomycosis also quite often settles.

On the prepared plates and 1 cm of healthy skin around them, apply a thin layer of cream (sometimes called ointment or gel, but this form of release does not exist) Thermicon with gentle massaging movements. The course of treatment is 14 days. On the first day after the use of the drug, the disappearance of acute symptoms of the disease in the form of itching, burning and hyperemia is noted.

The therapeutic effect on the foci of onychomycosis should be practiced regularly for 2 weeks. If a break is allowed or for some reason the person refused to use the medication ahead of time, the course is started anew. Otherwise, a relapse of the infection is not excluded.

Spray Thermicon. Most often, an aerosol is used for prophylaxis. It is recommended to treat shoes with them during the treatment of fungal infections to prevent re-infection with pathology.

Also, the spray, like all Thermikon preparations, is used for a therapeutic purpose, but with onychomycosis it is not very convenient if the treatment foci have a small area. But nevertheless, the agent is sprayed on a previously prepared surface (as before using the cream of the same name) once a day. The recommended course of treatment is 7 days.

Complex therapy

Termikon tablets for fungal infection are prescribed as an obligatory remedy in addition to cream and spray. Their use may not be required only at an early stage of onychomycosis, in other cases, the absence systematic approach in the fight against this disease becomes the cause of the rapid relapse of pathological process.

This is due to the fact that infectious agents are localized not only in the thickness of the nail plates and skin, but also have the ability to penetrate the body and affect it from the inside. It is to combat this aspect that an integrated approach to the treatment of nail fungus is needed.

Use for children, pregnant women

Thermicon is not recommended for use by women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This limitation also applies to children under 12 years old when it comes to the appointment of a cream and a spray based on terbinafine hydrochloride. In the case of tablets, the drug is approved from the age of 3 in an individually selected dosage.

Contraindications

The use of Thermikon is not recommended in the following cases:

• hypersensitivity to the individual components of the drug;
• pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• chronic pathologies of the kidneys and liver;
• cardiovascular insufficiency;
• alcoholism;
• oncology.

Limitations also affect children's age: tablets are not prescribed for patients under 3 years old, cream and spray - up to 12.

Side effects

Adverse reactions to drugs, the active ingredient of which is terbinafine hydrochloride, are:

• nausea, loss of appetite;
• stool disorders;
• muscle weakness;
• trobocytopenia.

In case of an overdose of a drug, the following symptoms develop: dizziness, vomiting, severe abdominal pain. To eliminate the signs of trouble, gastric lavage and additional intake of sorbents such as activated carbon are prescribed.

When using external medications, allergic reactions sometimes develop. Overdose situations were not observed during treatment with Thermikon cream or spray.

Analogs
