Analgin - the reverse side of the medal
A bit of history.
Metamizol sodium - in the Russian interpretation of analgin, has been practiced as an anesthetic for over 95 years.
Since the year of 1920( the year of its creation) and in the subsequent quite long period during which the preparation was thoroughly studied and scientifically substantiated conclusions about its actual properties were made, analgin has acquired unprecedented popularity in comparison with other similar drugs.
- Yes, analgin really relieved the pain.
- Yes, he really lowered the temperature.
- Yes, he also had a certain anti-inflammatory effect.
In addition, its mass distribution contributed to the fact that it was affordable and had no prescription restrictions. For the Russian consumer, this tablet turned out to be a wand - a bailout. The tooth hurts - analgin. The spine is analgin. His head is again him. Temperature is also analgin.
But everything, as you know, comes to an end.
With the development of research methods at a higher level, it was found that analgin as a remedy is completely useless. Its effect on the body is purely symptomatic. In translation from medical, this action, when the drug blocks the signal from the diseased organ to the brain, which thinks that there is no reason for alarm. That is, there is a visible effect of the drug on the human psyche.
In addition, it was found that taking analgin has a negative side effect on the kidneys, liver, heart and other organs. Moreover, its long-term use causes agranulocytosis - a disease accompanied by a decrease in the number of leukocytes( white blood cells), the main elements of the immune system. A decrease in immunity is an open door to pathogenic microbes and various kinds of infections.
Finally, the last, alarming signal sounded, like the alarm bell, which became public property. The information on cases of a lethal outcome with the use of analgin was voiced. Neither a little nor much - 7%.With more than 7 billion people in the world, the figure that prompted scientists to think that urgent measures must be taken.
And the measures were taken.
Today in 40 countries the analgin is banned. The zone of "forbidden" countries includes both highly developed countries - the USA, Japan, Australia, the EU countries, and some third world countries - Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines.
What about us?
There is no official ban in Russia yet. However, doctors have already come to the realization that with obvious violations, for example, kidneys, the liver, taking analgin is dangerous. I do not recommend it to children under 18 years.
This is encouraging. Perhaps in the near future, Russia will join the "forbidden" countries.
And what's next? !
Analginum is not the only remedy containing harmful metamizol.
Many, not prohibited analgesics, have in their composition a certain percentage, and in some, and the prevailing, of this dangerous compound.
Obviously, in the absence of an alternative, albeit with caution, we are still forced to use them.
And it's better to find time all the same and contact your doctors with sores.
